Name: Victoria

School: Brighton Secondary School

I had help from some special people. Their names are: My mum, Helen, all of my teachers, my singing teacher Guila. All of the staff at Brighton were very supportive. My friends; Lotte, Taria and Nick.

The hardest time for me was when: I found it hard to get motivated to study, especially for exams.

The best time for me was: When I finished my last exam. My friends and I ran to this mound of dirt and grass (which was out of bounds) and rolled down it. It was lots of fun!

I am enrolled at: Adelaide University.

I am studying: Music and Arts with a diploma of language.

I know that I am a role model for other Aboriginal students in my family and in my community and I am encouraging other students by: Showing them that it is possible to be successful no matter what background you have.

Any other comments you would like to make: I’d like to stress how important having a support group is. Even if you aren’t close to your family or you don’t have many friends, there are always people, especially teachers who are willing to help.
