The focus of these subjects is on learning with and from Aboriginal people. Both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students will regularly interact with Aboriginal people during the program, communicating with Aboriginal communities or organisations, and visiting sites of historical and/or cultural significance.

Stage 1  

Stage 1 Aboriginal Studies is designed to enable all students to demonstrate an understanding and to build on the skills that they bring to the subject. Students discuss and analyse Aboriginal perspectives on issues facing the Australian nation.

Stage 2 Aboriginal Studies aims to develop students' critical reading and research abilities, and their capacity to use a range of sources. The skills that they develop will enable them to critically investigate and analyse issues, appreciate a range of different views, and contribute their own considered opinions.
